ANTI-AGING

Dr. Hanson's "Ageless" Protocol: When the body is under stress, many of its measurements are out of order.  For example, taking a blood pressure during a fire-drill will show an alarming high pressure, but not necessarily an accurate one.  Cholesterol levels can jump over 40% in seconds if the patient is frighten during the taking of the blood sample.  In just the same way, hormone measurements are best taken when the body is balanced. 

Dr. Hanson recommends a monthly treatment, using electro-acupuncture to rebalance the body's electrical energy, its immune system, and its stress responses.  In many cases of menopausal (or peri-menopausal) patients, this alone will solve symptoms such as sleeplessness, fatigue, hot flashes, and itchiness. 

We use a dozen fine (and sterile) needles, stimulate them with our computer for just six seconds each, then leave them in place for a rest period of twenty minutes.  Most patients fall asleep (or at least relax) during this time. 

After  a couple of such treatments, a decision can then be made as to the need for further testing, including hormone testing. 

If hormone testing is needed, Dr. Hanson will refer to one of our team of internists who specialize in bio-identical hormones.  (They will only accept new patients after a couple of our "rebalancing" sessions, otherwise their readings will be off-kilter).  It is recommended to continue the monthly acupuncture visits for anti-aging rebalancing.
